Discover our latest grantee: Charlotte Trans Health

“The members of our group aim to provide excellent and affirming healthcare to trans and gender-diverse individuals in the Charlotte metropolitan area. As a collective, Charlotte Trans Health implemented services for our first grant received as a 501(c)3 non-profit, which was funded by the United Way and FFTC Covid-19 Relief Grant to increase access to affirming care. This first round of our ‘Access to Care’ program funded brief psychotherapy and hormone therapy prescriptions for over 30 individuals in Mecklenburg County. ”

  • We are proud of two accomplishments that are both aligned with our mission to increase accessibility to gender affirming healthcare. First, we completed a major redesign of our website to include a searchable provider directory so trans and non-binary individuals and their families can easily find affirming healthcare providers locally. Second, we implemented a grant we secured in the last quarter of 2020 that allowed us to launch the first round of our Access to Care program and provide free counseling services and free hormone therapy to over 30 individuals in Mecklenburg county.

  • We are excited to be celebrating 10 years since our formation, even though we are only 2 years young as a non-profit. We are also excited to add support to our organization and expand our services, particularly education of healthcare providers and the Access to Care program. A donation from another organization in North Carolina, along with our new website, and the funds from The Plus Collective will allow us to provide a more robust program of services this year.

  • It feels validating to be included among some of the most reputable LGBTQ non-profit organizations in Charlotte in receiving a grant. We value being a part of the Charlotte LGBTQ community through the partnerships we have formed, and to be partnered with The Plus Collective will help us to further our goal to educate healthcare providers and expand the availability and accessibility of gender affirming care. We hope Charlotte can be a beacon of hope when it comes to LGBTQ healthcare, particularly in the South.
