David McGibbon
BIOGRAPHY
David McGibbon is a Partner executive of Financial Services Consulting and Banking & Markets leader at Baringa. He serves on the Executive Board as Secretary for The Plus Collective, as a member of multiple Charlotte LGBTQ+ community organizations, member of Baringa's Embrace LGBTQ+ network, and also on the Board of Directors for the Carolinas Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
David holds B.S. and B.A. degrees with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also holds a Certificate of Business Excellence from the Global Banking Program with Columbia University Business School and Executive Leadership Program from Harvard University.
He has 21+ years of professional experience in the Banking and Capital Markets industry supporting clients across Consumer / Retail, Business Banking, Credit Unions, Commercial / Wholesale, Asset & Wealth Management, and Capital Markets, with a focus in serving business strategy, technology, and digital transformation, regulatory response and risk management, program and organizational change management, complex customer experience and channel processes, target operating model development, strategic assessments, and post-merger integration.
David is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) with expertise in Six Sigma/Lean, Agile, and program management methodologies. He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) with experience with BSA/AML/CTF.
In addition to responsibilities in the US and Canada, he previously served as a Consulting leader across the region of Cayman Islands, Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, and Turks & Caicos. He was awarded the Global Leaders in Management Consulting Excellence in Engagement Award from Consulting Magazine in 2021, and he serves as an executive board member on multiple 501c3 not-for-profit organizations.
Prior to joining Baringa, David was a Partner/Principal at EY (Ernst & Young, LLP) in Banking and Capital Markets for 15 years and specialized in Management Consulting and Systems Integration with Accenture for leading Financial Services institutions for 6 years.
